Our founder, Joe Markham, loved his retired police dog, Fritz, but did not love his destructive chewing habits. Where other dogs might have chewed your shoes or favorite purse, Fritz loved to crunch on rocks, sticks and other harmful items. Fritz’s teeth were wearing down and his need for stimulation and play was not being met, and Joe was frustrated.
One day, while working on a VW Bus, Joe began throwing out car parts to Fritz to lure him away from those rocks. Fritz was immediately taken with a rubber suspension part and dropped it in Joe’s lap to play. The erratic bounce and toughness of the rubber inspired Joe.
We’ve been making KONGs from our own proprietary, pet-safe, built-to-chew rubber ever since. Dogs love KONG. The way it bounces keeps them engaged and ready to play. Está recubierto por un material estilo "pelota de tenis" que no dura nada porque el perrete lo mastica. En la caja del producto ya se curan en salud diciendo "Atencion: no es un instrumento mordedor, sino para lanzar y devolver", pero eso vas y se lo cuentas al perro.... El mio lo dejó totalmente pelado en 3 dias, y la pelusilla que suelta se le queda por ahí entre los dientes metida, que muy bueno tampoco tiene que ser. En definitiva, yo no lo volvería a usar ni gratis. Eso sí: la idea es buena, porque al ser un anillo "deformado" bota de forma impredecible y eso divierte al perrete, buscaré otro anillo igual pero que sea simplemente de caucho.
Purtroppo il mio cucciolo non lo ha neanche guardato, ha provato a mordicchiarlo ma è molto difficile farlo suonare e quindi ha perso interesse molto rapidamente. Però l'idea non è male.
Dopo solo due ore il mio barboncino l'aveva completamente spelato. Non suona per niente, e oggi a distanza di una settimana è già stata sventrato con spargimento di pezzi di gomma per casa.
Di positivo ha che piace molto al cane, ma la resistenza è nulla.
